I'm in a similar situation as you! At my first job I was blessed with 12 weeks off (I took 1 week extra as vacay so it made 13). We had a reserve sick bank that accrued sick time for maternity leave so after working there about 3 years, I was able to get 9 weeks paid!

My current job isn't as generous. I get six weeks off, all unpaid. No short-term disability, nothin. I will have to use all my vacation and sick time and then the rest will be unpaid.

I really don't understand why the U.S. is no backwards when it comes to maternity leave. It's pretty disappointing!
